I’m Julie (aka “Peep”) and I’m a travel planning addict.
When I was 10 years old my dad decided that our family should pull up roots in Florida and move to California. So we crammed everything we owned into a big budget truck, packed three kids and a cat into the family van and journeyed to the West Coast. It seemed like an exciting adventure – only dad didn’t make any plans. When we arrived in California, we had nowhere to live. Things quickly fell apart from there. And while roaming the country for three months trying to figure out the best place to live SEEMS like it would be a fun adventure (and it was at times, for a 10 y.o.) ultimately, it was a huge waste of time. We ended up right back in Florida, having failed to move to California.
The life lesson I learned? Make a damn plan.
I’m a firm believer that days off are precious. Everybody deserves time off that is fulfilling and rejuvenating. Wasted time on vacation is like a spilled glass of wine – positively criminal. That’s why I believe it’s important to at least have a loose plan, because every minute counts!
I’m obsessed with designing trip plans with lots of options. I tend to “over plan” because knowing what’s possible gives me peace of mind. Having a plan doesn’t mean you have to stick to everything on the list. Spontaneity isn’t completely dead. There’s a beauty in exploring aimlessly on vacation and designing your time loosely enough to allow for some wandering is key. But I believe proper planning and research can make or break a vacation. Total spontaneity only works if you have infinite time to get it right – and most of us don’t.
With the world at our fingertips, we’re bombarded with information and options. It’s hard to cut through the noise and find what’s worth your time. I’d like to help with that.
In the “real world” I’ve worked as an architectural designer for nearly 20 years. I appreciate thoughtful design. Properly thought out architecture brings you a feeling of peace and well-being. A properly designed trip should do the same.
If your worst nightmare is wasting time on a trip, you’ve come to the right place.
I’d love the opportunity to put my research and design skills to work planning your next trip. Because you deserve a seamless vacation.
Work. Save. PLAN. Travel. Repeat.
